Humor: An Important Element to Your Blog
Now, that you have finally set up your blog, you want to add a little bit of something to make it more interesting for your readers. One of the most vital elements for you to achieve this goal is to add one of the most sought after blogging elements: humor. Beyond everything, blogs are not utilized for informing alone but also for entertaining.
Now, you want your blog to be funny but the problem remains that you do not know where to start. Maybe you already consider yourself as someone funny based on other people’s reactions. Or maybe other people do not consider you funny, and so you need some help with being funny.
Well, you have come to the right place. Below are some things that you can carefully consider if you are after achieving a funny blog or adding some element of humor into your blog.
1) Add a bit of being unexpected and unusual to your blog
One of the funniest kinds of comedy for a lot of people are shock comedy; however, they do not know that all humor gets to be effective when the person is able to get a surprised reaction. Just imagine slapstick.
With written word, on the other hand, adding the element of humor can be very difficult if you do not know what you are doing. However, it is a fact, of course, that you have tried being in quite absurd scenarios.
Just think of that thing that has happened to you or somebody else you know, or any story that is really preposterous but has a great ending to it. Develop a taste for something weird and learn to find it wherever you may be.
2) Utilizing some similes and metaphors
Another thing to add some humor into your writing is to come up with some bizarre comparisons with one kind of situation and another kind of situation.
Always keep in mind that similes and metaphors are always being confused. When it comes to similes, it is saying that one thing is as another or is like another. If you talk about metaphors, on the other hand, they deal more with making direct comparisons of one thing from another.
Wordplay, of course, is another awesome idea but you just have to wise about it like you should not use some puns on your article if they are not a great fit to your situation perfectly. You should know by now why groaners are what you call bad puns.
3) Utilizing irony and sarcasm
The above concepts are also typically being interchanged. Irony is what you call being caught in a situation that you really think is very impossible for you to be a caught in one. On the other hand, with sarcasm, it is more like doing the exact opposite of what really it is you are currently feeling.
